Nearly 50 people from 20 financial institutions (MFIs – savings and credit cooperatives – banks), including CEOs, Chairs of Boards of Directors, Risk Managers or Auditors and a University Rector, honored us with their participation in this workshop.

In order to complement the workshop organised in November 2014 on the same theme, this platform brought together financial institutions to discuss a global framework for taking into account and managing the major factors underlying the emergence of credit and liquidity risks at the institutional level, which could lead to a crisis at the sector level.

4 sub-themes developed by 4 panelists were the subject of a lively debate, developed in working groups whose results were fruitful. It was about:

  • Prevention of liquidity risk through integrated financial and operational risk management, by Jean Médard MUTEBA, Operations Director of FPM ASBL;
  • The situation of financial institutions and their vulnerability to risks, by André MAYALA, Secretary General of the National Association of MFIs (ANIMF);
  • Evaluation of the action plan on the liquidity crisis by André NKUSU, Secretary General of the Professional Association of Savings and Credit Unions (APROCEC);
  • Financial and operational risk management: challenges and possible solutions, by Richard AMOUSSOUKOSSI (Risk Expert).
